Hey guys just got a blaster and the swing arm pivot has some slop and looks like a piece is broken off as well as a break on the frame which needs welded, should I worry about the broken piece shown in the pic or just replace bushings and bearings?

Start with the bushings and frame repair. If the frame holes aren't wobbled out and everything tightens up good you should be fine.

Typical backwoods hack advice. You're telling this guy to pull the swingarm and change the bearings but not take an extra 10 minutes to pull the engine and get it welded? Brilliant Larry!

Take the engine to a shop or buddy with a tig welder and repair that hole before it causes real problems. It's a simple fix that will save you tons of cash in the long run.

Funny you didn't call Blaaster a hack with his backwoods wire repair

Maybe he doesn't have funds. Maybe there isn't a place nearby to weld. Maybe he doesn't have the means to machine/grind the weld afterwards.

Blaasters repair had nothing to do with strength and was a great idea. Big difference when you have a cracked case under significant torque. I never heard anyone say they didn't have access to funds or a welder. You just assumed it. Why don't you just stick to pounding nails.

I don't have access to a tig and the mig is broken what purpose does that case half serve ? Besides holding the rod straight seems like if I repair the frame replace bearings and tighten the ends it shouldn't move

What purpose does it have?

well it is part of the engine. it hold the transmission together, and that mount is made so the engine doesnt move
