tired of fooling with this peice of sh*t stock carb, and looking at a few new ones on ebay, both of these under $70, not lookin to spend 150+, basically stock motor, plus uni filter, will be adding an f7 or toomey exhaust soon, so lookin for some experienced suggestions on these carbs, or any others my bro's may have available??? jetting advice??

28mm mikuni
30mm oko
Honda TRX250r Keihin PWK carburetor 250r carb airstrike (39 mm, prolly too big, but only $125)

help!!!!!

The carb and the exhaust are both things that you really need to think about before you buy. They can both be expensive so you probably want to buy the one that you will need in the long run. If the exhaust is all your planning on then the 30mm might be big enough if you plan on going with more down the road, like maybe a bigbore or a port job then your going to want something bigger. like 305 said a 34mm-36mm. The 39 mm is really pushing it though. I dont know if a blaster would flow enough air at high enough of a velocity to use that carb without it being too lean.

thanx guys, i was hopin you 2 chimed in, advice taken,
fooled with this stock peice of sh*t again today, put the needle clip in every postion there is, and still bad bog in the middle, yes its clean, air screw everywhere but on the bench, haha, and floats at 21mm, calls for 20 - 21.5mm, i can figure it out, i guess i gotta order a new one and take my BFH to this one

the casting could have some issues it doesnt happen often but does happen, if you buy a carb thats not for a blaster you may have the same thing happen, make sure your motor is sealed up real good and if you have a buddy swap a CDI out befors the BFH, you sound like someone that cares about their performance so get the rite carb.

motors sealed up good, brand new in march, spayed it all over with
start fluid, no revving, goona try to set the float lower tomorrow, and put everything back where it belongs, then i'll investigate electrical, but no buddy's with blaster to try parts, BFH still sounds good to me!!!!!!

what size is your main jet? do you still have your air box lid on? Did you change anything prior to this becoming a problem or was it always a problem? If this just happened recently it could just be the weather being warmer. The warmer air is not as dense and does not have as much O2 in it per volume. So you may need to change out the main jet for, just guessing but probably one size smaller.

main jet is stock 230, try'd a 240, cause of the uni filter, ran worse, lid on airbox
ran good for a month or 2 after complete rebuild, this all started when i cased a big double, foolin around kinda racin a kx 250 on an mx track, followed him outta a corner and into the jump, a little too hot for me, hit so hard i bruised my feet, and that cone thingy in my pipe is now bouncin around in there, but why would that only affect me in the mid-range, and not top and bottom<< it's ok there??? pipe comin soon,
f7 or toomey?? but i still think its a carb adjustment issue, prolly gettin an oko 30mm this week, found a guy who has them new and a 10 jet kit for $80??? thoughts............
as for the possible cdi issue, i found a "hot shot" brand cdi, for $50, might try that too???

hey bro
thanx for the warning, but are we talkin 'bout the same dude, this guys ebay name is tommydavis99, says he has 3 30mm oko's arriving on wednesday??? he's from tennessee, and has 100% + feedback
we talkin the same guy,
thanx for lookin out

update, was thinkin last nite, and decided this problem also started around the time i installed the vito's tors removal kit, could it be i'm sucking air in through the idle screw or throttle cable???
and also watched a youtube vid on carb rebuild, and noticed that the needle sticking out of the slide seemed pretty solid, mine is loose and wiggles around, could it be i have the 2 plastic washers where the clip is in wrong??, cant see plainly in the manuals exploded veiw, i have one washer on each side of clip???
or slide and/or clip shot???
remember... i only have a bog in the mid-range, it idles fine, starts one kick, good throttle response, ok bottom and top, just mids???

well had the carb completely tore down, every part, cleaned, adjusted float to shut off sooner, and put it back together, went ridin with my son, lost my cell phone, found my cell phone (cracked screen but still works), but, the bike did run better, even caught me off gaurd a few times, its been runnin sh*tty so long i didnt expect it to stand straight up, now the bog is here and there, came home and adjusted float more, but when i put it back on, it was stuck open, gas out the overflow, a tap with a hammer solved that, but i'm thinkin its doin it while ridin, everything looks straight , and works good till i put it back together,??? goin to test it out again now, update later

oh yeah, found a small chip in one reed petal, but still seems to be sealing????
