I have an lt80 I let my brothers kid ride when he comes over but it started acting up after I put in a carb rebuild kit in it. It will start and idle great but dies as soon as I hit the gas. It will take off for mabey 35ft if I leave the choke on but then sounds like it floods out and dies. If I cover the intake up like 3/4 of the way it will run on the stand but dies as soon as I move my hand. I cant find any leaks buy spraying starting fluid all around the carb and intake so I am not sure what going on. I seems to me that it must be getting to much air some how but I dont know where to go. Any help would be great.
Also if I move the clip on the needle how does it affect everything? I was not sure where it was on the old needle so I put in the middle.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

did you rebuild with the same size jets sounds stupid but did you put the new gasket on the bowl middle should be a good start. the clip down on the needle is rich up is lean

Yea I did put a new gasket in the middle. And I belive it is the same jet but the old one is really corroded and unreadable. I tried to clean it but couldnt get it clean enough. What should I check on the float? It looks fine and it doesnt come out the overflow. I will take it off carefully and see how full it is? Where should it be: full, half full, or what. Thanks for the advice so far.

Thanks for the link newnick. That is just what I needed. On another note I did find an air leak behind the carb after rechecking everything. Thanks for the help guys, as always it has been right on the money.
