leakdown tester problems

hi

i just put together a new leakdown tester and i cant get it to hold pressure. i checked each part by spraying with soapy water and i cant find a leak. i even took the hose off and plugged the end and it still wont hold air. is it possible the gauge itself is the problem?

I sprayed everything with soapy water. No bubbles. The guy at the hardware store said I didn't need talpe with nylon fittings. Ill try taping the fittings and see if that helps. When I get home on mystery computer and off this stupid phone ill get some more pics.
