leak between the intake boot and reed cage

Thats what I would check are you sure the tool is pumping air, you need to turn the screw on the ball pump tight.

Found the leak guys! I pumped up my compressor and just connected that to the tester, I made sure not to go over 6 psi on the gauge with a slight push of the blow gun. All the of air is escaping through the trans breather tube (escaping almost as fast as i can pump it in), the one up front under the cover to the left. So what are my options now? Crank seal?

Pull the covers and the clutch hub/flywheel . If you don't find the leak at the seals, it's your cases leaking then. If its a seal leaking, replace both sides.

Thanks guys I really appreciate the input. I took the clutch cover off I can feel all of the air leaking (just by placing my hand there and I feel leaking) out where the tip of the pen is pointing:

Picture is awfull but i would think its the normal spooge that is very common at the exhaust connection at the head pipe.

i knew the pic wasnt perfect but i was just trying to show the basic location,im gonna try to post a better one in a minute.

is the black greasy feeling normal? if from exaust.

Yes,,its just excess oil run off. I get it all the time dripping out my pipes as well as any connection thats not sealed perfect it will leak a black greasy residue. Very much normal on a 2 stroke. Thats if its indeed comeing from your pipe, that picture looks like a shot from a potato.

lol sorry dude, here i dont know if this helps anymore but its clearer and you can see where its dripping.

Yes that looks like exhaust spooge! Easy fix either use copper RTV or buy a cometic exhaust gasket, PN#EX350064AM will seal it right up! I:I

Crank seal.

and holy crap guys way to hijack a thread.

Black greasy spooge is quite normal if the exhaust is not sealing tight.

What oil and ratio are you running?

If you suspect a leak between the jug and case, do a leak down test.

A fresh rebuild should have an excess of oil used in assembly, and the spooge may clear up after a little running time.

Easy fix, but replace both sides seals while you are at it.

No need to split the cases.

My apologies for replying to a jacked thread, that'll teach me to read the whole thread. :-[
