I have a kill switch that needs to be replaced. The switch is good but its an older style with a rubber stopper thats rotten so it doesn't hold the switch down. is there a way to just disconnect it and still allow the engine to run? I was going to get a new pro design type one but if i dont have to spend 40 dollars then I dont want to.

Just cut the wires off clean. A open circuit will allow it to run. A closed circuit to ground will cut the spark therefore killing the engine. Simply cut the wires and wire tape the ends.

So if i just disconnect the wires going up to the switch( they have they own quick connect connection) it should be ok? what exactly are you referring to the dirt bike kind of switch?
