kickstarter removal

having troubles with the nut that holds the kicker to the shaft, for splitting the cases, is this thing reverse threaded or am i gettin weak in my old age,
broke a good ratchet tryin to beat the thing loose, even try'd some heat????,
standard or reverse thread???? or some trick????

only trick i used is turning it all the way down like you just kicked it then put the wrench on it.. with a cheater bar.. steady force not hammering. that should do it..

305 is right i did it the same way when i put a clutch cover gasket on

thanx guys, it was really on there, had my son stand on motor, on the floor, and it came off, gotta get the fly wheel off, then that bag of new parts i have will get used finally
