I am having trouble getting my kick starter to stay closed. It vibrates outward at high RPM. I disassembled it and the ball and spring seem in good condition. I noticed there is a detent for the ball, but it seems to be plugged? Is the detent hole supposed to be plugged or is the hole simply drilled straight through and left open? I tried to do the trick with an extra ball-bearing but couldn’t get it re-assembled. Anyway the ball doesn’t seem to engage in the detent properly. Any suggestions?
