OKC, OK
I disassembled the clutch the other day to grind down the grooves in the basket. When I reassembled everything, I noticed that the kick start seems to miss on every other kick. Any idea why it would do this? The only problem I noticed was that the clip part was missing. I dunno if it was just missing to begin with, or if I lost it. I don't remember seeing it when I pulled everything apart.

Thanks guys

you are talking about the spring piece right?? you need it to make the kicker catch and return to top position. i have a kickstart assembly laying around if you need one. just let me know. 25 shipped

same problem on my friends blaster. u aren't gonna hurt anything running it but its a pain to get started. its just the little black clip, o and the more u kick it like this its gonna stop catching every other and it will b like every 10 and u will b bump starting it cause its easier. long story short: order a new gear assembly, run the blaster like this till it gets here, replace gear assembly, RIDE!!!

Get the clip, about $1.50. If it still doesn't engage every kick you can clean up the gears. The gears get hammered over time and develop a burr on the edge of the teeth. You can't really see the burrs but can feel the sharp edge with your finger. You can clean these up with a stone and dremel. Did this to one of our old blasters a few years ago and it hasn't missed since. Shouldn't need to buy new gears.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I never had any problems with the kick starter before, so I assumed it had to be the clip. I ordered a couple online just in case I happen to lose it again.

Thanks again!
