Hey guys my name is chris and I just got a pair of blasters on a trade. One of them is built pretty good wiseco piston, rod, and crank. Anyway I'm trying to reassemble the rest of the engine and I get to the kick start... When I set the spring and go to put the side case cover on everything turns over fine but as soon as I tighten the bolts it's near impossible to turn the engine over. Is there a spacer of something I am missing. Any help would be great thanks very much

Thanks I watched the video and it is bland on the kick start install... maybe there is something messed up with the white plastic spacer... I'm lost on it that's for sure.

Awsome I will check it tonight after work. Thanks for your help I'll keep this updated with a fix

The problem was one of the gears in the case had a nut that was too big and was binding up on the case cover. I corrected the problem and will be ready to try to start the bike tomorrow night but it makes me wonder what else is half assed on it..... fingers crossed! Thanks again for the help guy's

I would be careful. Who knows what was done to the inside. I would do a close examination of all external parts. Hope all is well.

I got the bike running. Broke it in for about an hour for idle time. Went to finally go ride it and I have no clutch. It feels like I have one but I dont. Does anyone know where I would start to Check. I've adjusted it every possible way. Thanks

I've adjusted it every possible way.

explain that for us, so we don't go over things you've already done.

the cable at the lever ?
the internal rod adjustment ?

did you loc-tite the adjusting nut on the rod ? might be working it's way off.
do not start the bike again until this is confirmed, if it drops off, all hell can break loose, time to pull the clutch cover.

did you hold the clutch in too long at high rpm's = welded the ball to the clutch side rod ?

I've adjusted the cable yes. I got the bike with the motor appart. I have another motor half way appart as well. I guess I'll take mine back appart in the morning and start to look for the problem. Does anyone have a write up on how the whole clutch system actually works so I can have a better understanding. Thanks

best bet is to download the manual and watch the KOR assembly vids

I hope you don't mean that you left it idling for an hr. I don't think that would be very good for it. Somewhere in Ken Oconnor's videos he shows how to properly do heat cycles. I would also use this method to warm up the engine, not just leave it idling.

The bike did not idle for an hour straight. I did 15 minute cycles.
Thanks for the picture of the alignment pointer.
I guess the clutch wont engage if I put it in gear and pull the clutch it won't move. When I get home after breakfast I will pull the clutch cover and start taking it appart. I'll keep everyone updated thanks for the input.

Okay guys I got it. The rod was indeed welded to the clutch arm. I changed it from my spare motor and now I finally got to ride it. Other than tightening the chain it's good to go. Thanks everyone for the input in putting me in the right direction!
