I bought a 2001 roller with no engine are wiring harness. I found a 2004 engine with wiring harness. Got the frame pc and up grades to front and rear brakes system. Now I got a roller again with engine in the frame. With the new wiring harness my on / off switch didn't work with the new wiring harness. Got one comning now. So do I need to install a install a key switch or can I just by pass this switch. If so what wires need to spliced together or none at all. HELP ..
THANK YOU

Yea cap them and it eliminates the switch. It's a contact closer meaning, when you turn it on it creates the circuit. When you turn the key off it grounds the connection and the bike turns off.

Didnt want to start another thread about keys so will ask on here.

On my bike you can start the engine with the key on or off. Wires are still plugged in. Any ideas why it is doing this?

Check the ground wire off the key. probably corroded.

Heck check all of your wiring for rust and corrosion at the ground. better safe than sorry

Have fix my problem. black wire was broken at the solder on the back of the key switch.

1st place to check if you have same problem as me.
