I'm thinking of a mild carb upgrade to go along with my planned 3mm crank and port work. Noticed a few different carbs commonly available. What's the difference between a Keihin PJ carb and PWK? Price isn't terribly different. Is one better or easier to tune etc than the other? Is one more rebuildable or make better power? I'm only planning on a 28mm as I want to keep the best throttle response and a crisp low end/midrange.

The pwk is a newer model and is easier to tune with better features. Personally, I'd go with the pwk if you don't mind paying a little extra cash

pj is a flat slide pwk is a D style slide and has different angled venturi fins to channel the air over the needle ..theres way more info about them but im not typing the great american novel on it lol you need to just know that the pwk D slide is light years ahead of the pj

Personally I think you should go with anything bigger than a 28mm, stock is 26. Your suffocating the engine go atleast with a 34pj, they are a good carb. I've never ran any of the pwk's so I cant give a honest comparision.

Yeah i dunno about running the pwk either, but i know my 34pj is great. I find it really easy to tune, maintain and i like the power gains. But that's just my personal opinion

the 34pj is really finnicky when it comes to tuning, one little mess up and its back t square one, i like it but have heard good things about the pwk also, either one you will be happy with. go with 30 or 34 if you plan on mods to ur bike, pointless to get a 28.
