Hi all.

I am having some difficulty tuning this carb in.. So I was wondering for thoose of you guys who have it, if you could quote this form and fill out for me, so I have something to compare.

Keihin 34mm settings:

Mainjet:

Pilot jet:

Needle clip:

Airbox lid on/off :

Airscrew:

Idle(choke) :

Runing conditions (little bog, no bog, little sputter, no sputter, perfect! ) :




The reason I have put idle on is some have turned it all the way down! and adjusted idle at the throttlebox.

Your jetting/tuning is going to be specific to your bike. Even if somebody had the EXACT same set up as you and have their carb tuned differently.

You need to tune your carb to the needs of your bike. Having people tell you what they are running and then trying that out is just going to lead you on a wild chase.
 
Yes i know but please thoose who have fill the form.. I´d really like to see.. and compare, see generel settings etc.. just for the fun of it..

(I know one of my main problems ex. is i have only tested and run with lid on!, so it could be fun to see if there is any other who have done that or for ex. EVERYBODY runs without with the lid off the PJ34. Also to see users leanest jet setting and users richest jet setting.. could be interesting)

Needle clip: 2nd groove from top

Airbox lid on/off : off

Airscrew: 2.5 turns out

Idle(choke) : bloody useless knob that's not really connected to a damn thing as far as I can tell...

Runing conditions (little bog, no bog, little sputter, no sputter, perfect! ) : Idles slow and crappy, but doesn't stall out. Bogs slightly just off idle, runs like greased snot through the midrange and up top I:I
I just put mine on, haven't really played much with it other than getting the jetting somewhat close. It had a 165 main and 60 pilot in it when I got it. It needs a rebuild as it leaks from the bowl gasket and drips slowly out the overflow after sitting for a while when not running. I think the tip of the float valve is hard and worn out. I know better than to chase symptoms when the carb is obviously not in tip-top shap. I'll play with it after I get my parts in to rebuild it. They seem like a very easy carb to work with and adjust (compared to the OEM Mikuni).

Airbox lid on/off : CFM Air box K&N cone style filter

Airscrew: 1 1/2

Idle(choke) : All the way in (adjust idle with throttle cable

Runing conditions (little bog, no bog, little sputter, no sputter, perfect! ) : Not bogging through out power band. Clean all the way through.




Honestly you really need to just take the time and tune. I got my carb from Angus with a 150 main jet in it and put it on my bike. Started it up let it warm and reved it to the top. Has some bogging on top. I then went to the 148 and moved the needle clip up one. Cleaned it right up.

Keep adjusting the carb setting and see what happens. Remember to only adjust one at at a time so you know if the adjustment make the problem better or worse.

Yea I know, thanks for the info.. You said you moved the needle one up? But dosent it come stock in the middle as you wrote? 148main.. the only one i dont have! :) (If thats whats I need.) Well already I have some input! although only a few has answered.. I think my problem most certain is I only did some runs with the LID ON (12 toomey vents) but thats NOTHING compared to runing with the LID OFF.

So today im gonna test!.. I´ll think i´ll swap the mainjet 150 back in instead of the 145. Do the "new plugtest" .. see what color it gives me.. thanks.
