ok so when i bought my quad the guy before me was racing it so he took the lights off and just about everything he could so i wanted to throw some wally lights on the front incase i was ever stuck out at night....so i wired it up to the oil light on the wiring harness and after that i wired it through a switch and so far ive already blow the lights out twice... any one else have issues with this??
is it maybe cause i have a after market stator and its putting in too much power??

the PO. prolly removed the voltage regulator too ?
look for an approx. 2" x 2" silver metal box with a blue wire on the kicker side under the hood
if thats missing, you'll need to get one wired in, or you'll keep blowing lights

so i checked and my voltage regulator is still there....any way to check if its good or bad?? the light was fine for a while and then it blew when i really got on the gas going through the trails

Sounds like the voltage reg is not up to scratch.

Connect a multimeter over the wires and rev the motor, the volts should not climb much over 13.8 volts, if they do the reg is shot or not connected properly.
