My vote goes to the uni filters. I have never had an issue with getting the sand out of them. I run a prefilter on them just as you would on a K&N. The local sand dunes here are very dusty and I have yet to tear down and engine running K&N's out there that doesn't have a fine layer of dust in the carbs. I have never seen any of the fine dust get through a properly serviced foam filter. And, if flow is your concern...I have seen no jetting differences between the uni pods and K&N pods. People will claim that the uni's plug up too quickly, think about it they are plugging because they are stopping that dust from getting into your engine. The K&N's don't plug so quickly because that fine dust is passing through them.
