Im thinking of buying a k&n filter, ive been told they made a difference but is this true or just another way of selling?

if there is it is minimal, i opt for a uni filter...K&N filters have the potential to filter better than foam. Unfortunately, they rarely live up to that because, like foam, they depend on being thoroughly and uniformly oiled to filter well, and they are more difficult to maintain properly than foam. if your riding in dusty muddy conditioins you would want a uni.
ok cheers im running the stock atm and i dont ride it in dusty places in the winter but ill need a new one for summer
I read about K&N letting fine sand pass threw. I can't say for sure myself.just what some people post back when I was asking.
you get what you pay for...idk about you, but i would feel better with a $50 filter under me then a $30...
ok ill go for a uni then wen i get round to it, also i was wanting to know taking the air box lid off improve air flow?
have you tried searching at all? it will help and sound better but you will most likely have to rejet and adjust your air screw
well i could do with some new back tyres and rims but i was gunna wait for a bit and need new suspension but i dont think its enough, im getting about £700 wen i sell my trails bike to put towards it so yeah power probs and its $308
It will improve the air flow to the point that you will have to rejet your carb .you will have to do it anyways for the air filter

Your at a good start with the air filter. I find it best to upgrade shocks and brakes first.
without tearing into the motor u can advance the timming a lil bit ther is a diy on it and getting the air filter, removing the airbox lid. after rejeting it will be some improvement. i would suggest a 400 rear shock and banshee front also i couldnt stand mine with the stock setup. if your tearing into the motor u could probobly get some portwork and head mod and that would make a big difference in power but then you would want a larger carb and redo bearings and seals at the same time so it all depends how far u wanna get into it.
hmmm well my master cylinder has gone and im waiting for parts to come but all round the brakes will lock all the wheels with the clutch out so there fine, so ill have a hunt round for some banshee front shocks and a 400 rear shock. on the motor side ill probs get airfilter and rejet if money forgiving 
In my opinion that's way to much money.the one there showing looks like a clamp on filter. Clamp on filters are good if you never hit water. Just get a uni and rejet your carb.
400 EX bushings will want this to install rear 400 shock. suzuki or ex shock. can also use a 250r but most of those are old. ebay!!
