K&N Air Filter

I have drilled holes in the lid, but im not sure if i want to take the lid completly off as i will have to clean the filter every ride or so

Don't get the K&N filter, UNI is much better for blasters because they are a foam style filter. I like to think they catch a lot more dust but I don't think that has been proven. Everybody on here runs UNI and they love it, you just have to make sure to clean it and oil it every so often

UNI is the filter of choice for most owners.

The K&N filter will be fine, I've been running a Vito's filter which is the same as a K&N on my blaster for over 4 years now, and I haven't had any problems due to it not being a foam air filter.
While I do believe that the foam air filters may filter more dirt, there is also the fact that a filter which filters smaller particles will most likely not flow as well either. If its harder for dirt to get through the filter, its gonna be harder for air as well. So as I see it, if a foam air filter is claimed to have better flow than a K&N, it likely won't be filtering out dirt any better than the K&N will.

ok thanks! im not doing any racing or any thing, so im going to leave my drilled air box on the machine with the K&n filter and will leave it at that. Thanks for your help tho! appreciate it I:I

alrighty, when you want some real power out of that blaster just holla

I rock a k&n in my blaster and i have no issues i dont run the air box lid either

The type of filter dont dictate the cleaning needs the conditions you ride in does.Obviously if you ride in muddy dusty dirty conditions then youll clean it more often.

I clean mine every couple of rides anyways its cheap assurance and one less issue easily taken care of with a few mins of my time.

To answer your question yes a k&n will flow more and we all know more air and fuel crammed into a cylinder means more power.

I would not use a K&N on anything in dusty condition, foam only.
K&N is all about max airflow, and they do deliver, but longevity will suffer.
I have one on my car, and have used them on off road trucks, and have found an intake full of grit.
