First post, bare with me. Son and I found a blaster in the barn... Not sure of the year and doubt any previous modifications. Want to make it go. I have little to some mechanical capabilities. But I do have a warm garage...

Initially got this thing running (new plug) by pull/push. No clinking or clanking, however, no idle, floodish, and eventually, dies out. Cannot kick start, spark is present. Decided carb was done. Opted to replace instead of rebuild stock. I bought a PJ 34 to stick on and get things running...

Before I buy intake filter and manifold... Is this to much for stock head. Keep in mind I just want to get this thing running before we continue...

Thanks

its not too big. just gotta mess with the jetting and get it right. that carb will wake it up for sure with a open element filter and after market exhaust pipe on it. the good news is that if it needs a rebuild you're only looking at about $100 for a top end and less than $300 for a complete top and bottom overhaul. these are super simple engines and have really cheap parts.

welcome to the site and feel free to ask as many questions as you need. if you can get us pics of the blaster, we can help you with a good starting point and tell you where to go from there.

yeah i'd just tear the old one down and use a can or two of carb cleaner on it. welcome to the forum, all i ask is you do a little searching before you post something thats been asked a million times lol.

the 35mm carb will be no harder to connect versus taking the old one apart and cleaning it. its all about the ketting, if you know how to change jets youre golden. they make kits for the air filter and manifold. check projectblaster.com for the kit
