Just installed a 40 over vitos big bore kit and was wondering a few simple questions.

1. use a br8es plug still?
2. Do i need buy an oil block off kit or can i just continue to use my oem oil injection that my blaster came with?
3. what is the spec as far as compression should be on a vitos big bore kit 40 over? my kit was used and i would like to see if the compression is good still for being what it is...

Thanks!

i would keep the same number ngk plug

i would start premixing my gas so that i don't risk a cheap plastic gear failing and me losing a brand new top end

and not sure on the compression. has it been bored and honed just before you got it? do you suspect there's a problem?

it is a vitos 40 over kit big bore. and no it has never been honed or anything before, but like i said i got it used and there was some light scratches in the piston and cylinder walls and i just want to make sure the compression is still up to par or pretty close to stock with the original vitos big bore kit just to make sure that i am not loosing any compression.

The quad runs great with it on but i always like to check and be safe cuz like i said there were a few scratches in the cylinder as well as the piston from normal everyday ware and tear.

Also so the normal oil injection will feel the larger head enough oil to be ok for now? i am going to buy the oil block off kit soon but i just want to make sure for now while im runnin the stock oil pump that it will be ok and putting enough oil to the new head...i just like to be carful.

phragle..

me and brando were just talkin about this in chat box..

trying to figure out if he bought a 240 kit or a.040 set up...

hope the poor guy didnt but a .040 jug with poston thinking its a 240 kit

He would be better off if he did. if the 240 is last bore and the bore is tired, then he is resleeving and port matching. If its the triple exh. port cyl. Im not sure sleves are even available, witch means major tweaking on a standard 240 sleve and this is on top of what he paid for the cylinder to begin with...by this time it would have been cheaper to have bought the new bb cylinder to begin with....

or put an LA sleeve in a stocker........

you guys are totally missing the whole thing here... I bought the kit used. The quad it came off of ran absolutely fine, it ripped hard as hell. I bought them off the kid for 130 bux, the entire big bore kit 40 over (str8 how it came from the box almost 2 yrs ago) the kid has done nothing to it its just a stock 40 over vitos big bore kit. So i got it off him and when i pulled it off there were some scratches in the cylinders, normal wear and tear it looked to me, as well as on the piston. Since it ran fine on his quad i wasnt really too concerned.

I ordered all new gaskets from vittos and but the big bore kit on my quad last night, the quad runs amazing started up 1st kick. It rips hard as hell as well. I was only curious about those 3 questions that ill state again.

1. use a br8es plug still? (which a kid already answered for me above YES stick with these plugs)

And now i just need to know about these two questions VVVVV

2. Do i need buy an oil block off kit or can i just continue to use my oem oil injection that my blaster came with? (seemed to run fine yesterday when i was running it but if it is not enough oil for the big bore kit then i do not want to eventually seize the kit.

3. what is the spec as far as compression should be on a (stock vitos big bore kit 40 over?) my kit was used and i would like to see if the compression is good still for being almost 2 yrs old. (im just curious)

Thanks!

take that injection pump off and mix it yourself. @32to1 those things fail all the time you dont want that happening and destroying your new 240 i have a vitos 240 and my compression is 135 and i run 93 octane. hope that helps answer a couple of questions.

ok, what we were thinking is that the big bore kit had been bored .040 over to rebuild it. its just a big bore kit, not a big bore kit 40 over

Ok thanks guys, so my compression should be around 140psi when i test it? and also i should premix my fuel 32to1 when i remove my oem oil pump?

Just want to confirm.

Thanks alot guys?

yup and premixing is easy too. especially if you buy a ratio rite cup, makes for a correct consistent mix every time

Ok and when i do the oem pump delete do i HAVE to buy a block off kit? Or are there ways i can do it myself like going to a hardware store and buying those little nipples and such to block the holes and on the carb..

you dont have to buy a oil block off kit. just cap off the spot on the right hand side of the carb that the oil shoots in to, and take the gear off of the oil pump in the crankcase you will have to take the clutch cover off but take off the white plastic gear but leave the pump on so clutch fluid doesnt leak out and water and dirt dont come in then block off the two holes coming out of the clutch cover, where the two oil lines came out. take the old oil lines completly off the quad along with the oil container under the seat. 32:1 8 ounces of oil to two galons of gas. thats what i did if i remember right.

ok cool> so pull the white gear off and pull the two lines completely out of the pump and take off the tank for the oil and block the hole on the carb?

My only question is what should i then use to cover the hole where the two lines came outa the plastic cover? just stick a piece of rubber in there? cuz i def dont want sh*t gettin in there right? thanks

all that i did was cut the lines, and then fill the holes with black RTV. the way i would do it is just leave the lines attached to the pump and cut them off flush with the rubber and fill them with rtv. i just got a blockoff plate on ebay by itself for like 8 bucks and then got some vacuum caps from the parts store for a couple bucks and used that instead of buying a 30 dollar kit
