I'm finally going to throw my motor back together tomorrowI:I It got me wondering what I should use to join the cases.. Do I need some special silicone, or would any high temp silicone do? Thanks in advance.

i used the black permatex.
working ok so far....
i think they recommend the yamabond from the stealer.

here's what i used..... permatex anerobic sealant. anerobic sealer is made for aluminum flanges, trans cases etc. it cures/dries in the absence of air . makes cleaning up the excess easy. you can find it at your local napa/parts store. like quam said they recommend yamabond but there is a couple different grades so make sure if you go that route to ask someone there to make sure your getting right one for your application.

I used the International gasket maker. its a greay silcone and smells of amonia real bad. if want something to seal I would this stuff, never had a leak. This stuff is strong! Its used on the DT444 motors for there oil pan gaskets and when its comes time to remove the pan you usually have to find the biggest hammer in the shop. great stuff, I used it because I didnt want any vacuum leaks.
