Been playing with my Blaster project I just got finished. I jetted way up because it had seized and was concerned that maybe it was too lean. Now I think it may have had an air leak. Anyway I am running a PWK 28 with standard needle that comes in it (forget the number right off hand), Toomey B1, air box without lid for now, UNI dual stage foam filter. Fresh bore at .50mm over and mild port job. DOn't know if port timing was changed. All new seals in the bottom end and leakdown is perfect. Running dual stage power reeds.
When I first got it running I had a 160 main in it. With the lid on no snorkel it was so rich it wouldn't run except at idle. Took the lid off and it ran better but still rich. This is all at 45 degree temps so it would really be rich when temps get into the 70-80 range. Ok so I go back to the 152 main that was in it when I got it. Put the lid on and still too rich but better. With the lid off it screams through the entire power band and runs great.
Trying to tune this for 70-80 degree weather with the lid on. I really want to run the lid for risk of getting water in the air box where we ride some times. I am not opposed to cutting some of the baffle off the inside of the lid out, but not opening the top at all.
My next thought on jet is maybe 145 main. What do you guys think? I know I need to do plug chops to fine tune, but need to get close with the lid on so I can get to that point.
