Okay guys lookin for some support here. I got a blaster. Stock bore. Uni dual stage. Right now airbox lid on. Nothing else. So i just won a fmf pipe with shorty silencer. I need a jetting baseline. I know fmfs website says 260 and remove the snorkel from the fron of the airbox lid. My question is is it worth it to remove the lid entirely? As opposed to removing the snorkel? How bad is mud and water with the lid off? I mean im not bogging but i ride in wet muddy fields trails with puddles that soak you good etc. Would i be better off with a lid or will the seat keep most of that off? So pretty much fmf gives me a basline for airbox lid on so is lid off worth it and what range of jets should i buy to jet this

summer.. no lid.... 270-280... winter 300-310.. i never changed the needle clip on any of mine, just turn the air screw in a 1/4 turn after adding pipe for summer and a 1/2 turn for winter. and fine tune fro mthere

wow i never realized that there was tht much difference for winter. I would be fine playing it safe with the 280 right? And what is your opinion on airbox lids?

P.s. I will be checking my jetting just wanna buy the least amount of jets possible

my blasters were always happy with that jetting....... well when the 01 and the 89 both had fmfs the 89 was happy at a300 in summer with the lrd pipe...

i normally wil lbuy 2-3 jets a crack.. like the lt i got a 260-270 and 280.. its very happy with the 280 for cold..

summer i have to drop to a 250 and drop one size on the pilot

I've been looking around here but could not find the stock jet size for the stock carb. I am sure I will need to rejet once my motor is back together so I wanted to know where I would be starting from..

summer i run a 290 with a vented lid and fmf plug looked perfect a 270 with fmf and two tiny little holes in the lid the lid i have now has like 8 holes with vents id start with a 290-300 in summer no lid winter mabey 310 but thats me

once again that comes into each machine is differant and elivation/temps and so on... my numbers were mearly a baseline like he asked for

and i agree with ya thats why i gave him my numbers hes a pa boy like me so i figured it might get him a little closer

yeah i was still debating on whether to even get a 270. i was thinking more like 280-300. less$ on those stupid brass things the better
