I drove my blaster on some trails, and at the end of the day, it died on me while I was driving it. Tried to start it, wont start, fuel is full, oil is half way in the tank. (its a four stroke). And after that I noticed when I engage clutch, it seems like it doesn't engage, but the cable moves, and where it connects to, moves as well. I don't know if it engages or not, but when I do engage it, ATV doesn't move freely like its supposed to, still in gear. When I put in neutral though, moves freely. Point I'm trying to make, maybe thats why it doesn't start, because it doesn't engage inside the motor somehow? I need some help. I'm new to ATVs, and know nothing about them.

he said hes new to quads!! you probabaly fouled ur plug.... you got to keep it goin in the rpm range or it will stall...trails are a perfect place to foul plugs..

if not mistaken, 4 stroke is where you have fuel tank, and oil tank seperatly.... 2 stroke is where one tank for oil and fuel together, mixture.

and the other thing, how can check if it gives spark?

when you kick the kickstart does the piston move up and down? is there resitance? and as for the clutch, when you pull the clutch you get the drag from the oil and stuff, some vehicles i've used wont move at all with clutch in, try rocking it back and forth :)

no its nothing to do with having oil and petrol seperate, its to do with the engine architecture, the way the fuel enters the engine and the gases leave Etc. :)

ok, the last 2 posts were completely not for my brains lol

when I unplug the spark plug cable, It makes no different sounds when the cable is attached to the plug

ok here ya go...
2 stroke..more simple design, it takes 2 revolutions for the engine to make power.. has a more highpitched sound, has alot more power and are more fun..

4 stroke.. more complex design, takes 4 revolutions to make power.. lower pitched sound[sounds like a fart] doesnt haveas as much snap, and does not break down as much......

btw welcome to the world of quads!! muhahaha

Ok if the quad is a blaster it is a two stroke. blasters come with an oil injection so you dont have to mix. is the oil tank by the rear fenders if so thats the oil injection. And to check spark remove the spark plug from where it is in the motor and keep it in the rubber boot then hold the one end up to something metal and kick. please tell me you put 2 stroke oil in the oil tank if you didnt then you probly blew the top end

Ok, then it is 2 stroke, my bad. and yes there is oil tank by the rear fenders. I didnt put any oil there yet, there was oil when I bought it. And yes, the the plug cable is on the spark plug.

oh that end of plug, i thought the outside lol, my bad. the ATV is at my friends house, case i don't have a garage at my apartments, so I don't have that piece of information
