i found a blaster on local sales network for 300 it needs rings do yall think its a good deal

I always assume the worst, which in this case is probably the case. It needs a new bore, piston kit, and gaskets. Probably run you about $200, that depends on if the bottom end is good or not. Make sure you check everything on that bike!

ya it seems like every body on craigs list lists a blaster as a 225 or a 250

If its in good shape other then the motor, it should be well worth the money.

ok i talked to the guy it has a full fmf exaust and he said just about every thing in the motor was aftermarket and what happend was he was riding it and it bot hot and cut off and he wouldent get it started but it was not locked up

Sounds like it may be a case of not jetting for the motor mods.

A compression test will tell you but most likely you will need to do the top end. Still seems like a real good deal.

i would do it for 300, u could get ur money back out of parting it out, worst case.
i would pull the top end and if he ran it really hot the piston will be shot and again worst case u will need to bore. but he may have just rode it for a few minutes and u could get away with new piston and rings. but a thorough inspection is a must.

well we maynot buy it because we found a deal on a 300ex for $400 it just needs a batery but it runs and drives
