I have been out of the blaster scene for a few years now... I'm thinking of buying another one.

I have come across a 96 with a 240 big bore kit & needs tranny work.

What would you pay?

Thanks for any info.

go take a real good look at it. And what exactly is wrong with the tranny? if it doesnt look to bad sure go ahead. But i used to have a 96 with a tranny issue. in 2 years the tranny had to be rebuilt twice. So i sold it. but its up to you but yeah if it is truely a 240 bbk go ahead

if it is a true 240bbk, with life left on the cylinder,(you only get 3 overbores on the bbk's) compression is good and the rest of the bike is in good condition, i wouldnt let a lil tranny problems worry me, thats all fixable

here ya go eric..................

Exactly how the video says it, look for either "Y-1" or "Y-2" on the outside of the intake port. If you see them, that means he's a liar. If you don't see them, it is a 240 BBK.

Also, check to make sure he didn't grind it off himself!

paid 700 for my 96 needed a lil carb and reed work had ugly tall tires on rear and spray painted plastic but in good shape other wise so about the same

I have one thing to add. My friend used to have a blaster with a true vitos 240 bbk but sold it. While riding i had my stock 96 besides his bbk 240 and his cylinder and head had this greyish color while the stock is all black. Another thing to look for. And usually blasters with big bore kits have a bigger carb to.

Thanks for all the info guys! I'm going to try & get out of the shop early on Monday & go take a look.

It is only about a 2 hour drive from here.
