When you get your top end rebuilt, and you go to put your piston in the cylinder, should you just put it in, or coat it all in some sort of oil? What should you put in on yout connecting rod upper bearing? One more question, at the end of my crank-case breather hose, there is a little plastic plug with what looks like a tiny hole in the center of it. Is it supposed to be there? What purpose does it serve? I don't know if it completely blocks off the hose or not. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks

when i rebuilt mine i put some mixing oil on my finger and put it on the cylinder walls ... and the thing on the case i think u are talking about if the case vent ..

I like to take a cap from a spray paint can and let the rings, rod bearing and circlips soak in the premix oil you intend on using. Then you can coat the piston and cylinder walls just before assembly or if you've got a small tupperware bowl that your wife or mom doesn't mind you ruining you can pour the oil in it and just let everything soak then all you gotta do is coat the cylinder wall a bit. Its best to let the things soak in oil for about 10-15 minutes if at all possible.
