like the title say's, was headin to a party up the mountain,
on the boys bike, mine still needs bigger main jet, it had been dark for at least an hour when i left my house, blew up the hard road and turned onto the dirt, prolly into third, crackin hard,
decided it was time to put the goggles up, bad decision, they were fogged bad, and before i could get them back off, i never made the turn in the road, ran off the road and hit a huge rock, hard !!!!!, dont even think i had time to hit the brakes, flew thru the air quite a ways and landed in a gravel driveway, on my head. << good place to land cause it's hard as that rock, hahahaa
tumbled once and rolled to my feet, went back and flipped the quad over to see the damages,..... broken tie rod, both front rims smashed in, but still holding air, front bumper pushed in and the weld cracked, but damn that bumper took one helluva hit and prolly absorbed most of the shock, i will be getting another of the same kind, dg i think???

the last pic is of the gouges to my helmet....saved my ass, big time, i landed hard
called my buddy that was already up the mountain, he came in his truck to haul the wreck home,
and even brought my beer with him <<< thats a true bro!!!!!

good news is i have another tie rod with ends, and aluminum front rims i just didnt get around to flopping tires onto yet, bumper may get pounded out and rewelded

cost of fix...............................................prolly free
bottle of anti-fog spray.............................less then $10
surviving another hard crash, at my age.......priceless,
baaaahahahahahaaaaa

Damn, atleast u got ur beer. Glad ur ok that is for sure and like what was already said atleast it wasn't ur bike.

god to hear your not in the same shape as that bumper. tip for ya. i snowboard so i already have them laying around .. but, snowboard goggles work well for summer too, they have a gel coating on the inside that prevents fogging, ive never had an issue with mine, and, they are yellow lenses so i can see pisser at night.
Wrench,Wheel,Break,Repeat brotha!!!!!

I found the best anti-fog for lenses on the planet. Lemon Joy (lemon kind only) dish washing detergent. Put a thin film straight on the lens, let dry, wipe off to clear finish. I use this on my helmet when I race cars on the west coast. One track is 200yards miles from the Pacific ocean, another is about 5 miles. We have alot of stuff by water (Cali. kicks ass). Than means high humidity, bad lens fog. I know anti-fog stuff can get fairly pricey when used alot. One lemon Joy (lemon kind only) bottle will last years.

well upon further inspection today, looks like i just gotta replace a tie rod end, which i have spares of, and pound the one rim back into place, the left rim is pushed in, so doubt its gonna leak, if i dont like that, i'll throw my front rims and tires on for today, i'll be riding by this afternoon !!!!!
then get the tires switched over to the aluminum rims i have for it during the week,
no wallet required!!!

good info on the "lemon joy" and earlier post on "ski goggles"
have some greens!!!!

thats suck. im trying to picture my dad (about ur age) going to a party on a quad and crashing, hahahaha

i'm far beyond the average 46 yo., and last nite i flew thru the air like superman!!!! hahahaaaaaa

Joe, what the hell ya trying to do? I never heard of beer goggles fogging up! glad ya weren't hurt, geez come on ya know you were racing one of the kids on his 400 and ya had to show him the proper crashing procedure!!

thought i would have been sorer than i was, but my head is sore from the hit, even thru my helmet, had the bike fixed before noon, did some pre-race maintenece to my bro's ktm144 for next weekends gncc race at mt. ridge, somerset pa, <<< (anyone else going?? pm me)and then some practice riding around 5,
that took the soreness outta my back, and we went to see the rocks i hit, amazing the bike and i survived that, the biggest of them is as big as my blaster, and a few smaller ones that 2 men would have a hard time lifting, < i actually hit them so hard they moved about 6 inches,
im going over today and get a few pics !!!!

Glad your ok bro.

Just curious bout the snowboarding goggles mentioned? Arent the lenses on riding goggles hardened or something so they dont break when a rock or something hits them? Are boarding glasses the same way?
