I just installed a carb rebuild kit on my 97 blaster hoping that was the problem with it not wanting to idle. but when i started it up it was doing the same thing as before, starts on the first kick but only if you give it some gas. if i let off of the gas it dies right away. also when i drive it if i dont give it about half throttle for take off it dies also. I was wondering if this problem was more than likely due to the reeds needing replaced?

it doesnt have a full fmf exhaust...just the back pipe, the front pipe is stock. the kid i bought it from had it this way. i picked it up a few weeks ago not running and put a new coil and plug on it and it started right up. replaced the jets with stock sizes, he already had the TORS disconnected, he put aftermarket brakes on and i believe he disconnected some wires that went to it(im guessing the parking brake wires) supposedly he rebuilt the top end but i havnt wanted to tear it down to find out yet. but like i said it starts the first kick but wont stay started unless you give it a little gas. all of the jets are stock size. if the jets are turned off i have no idea how to turn them on? thanks guys

iono bro I am having the same problem with mine It starts fine but I have to hold the throttle or it dies. I have tried adjusting the idle but that doesnt help at all. I am going to remove my tors and check my reeds. If I figure anything out I'll let u know. And u b sure to post if u get yours fixed.

I had the same problem. You can't just disconnect the tors, you have to complete the circuit by cutting the connector off and tie the wires together, then also do this under the front hood where the wires come from the switch in the thumb throttle.
