seems my girls blaster idles different every time we start it and all throughout the day. one second its high the next its low. what all could it be besides air leaks?

just took it for the first ride today. not sure if its related or not but after she putted around on it for a while i got on to beat it a lil bit to try not fouling the plug but as i got wide open in 3rd it started backfireing every couple seconds. im putting in a fresh plug and trying again tomorow

forgot to add turning the dle screw under the seat doesnt do much difference on this one . like to notice a differance i gotta move it like 2 turns. maybe i need to adjust the air screw?

If you know you do not have an air leak start with a tors delete kit and never look back. Kinda surprised you haven't done that yet. :D

my wifes bike is doing the backfiring thing after adding the tors delete kit. i put it in and it ran real good for a day or so then started overloading and now will idle after letting it dry out but as soon as you give it gas it dies....sorry Genetics but i thought i would share that i hav the same problem

im thinking maybe im running a little lean? i think the needle needs adjusted. im not good with my hands but im going to attempt to adjust it tomorow, gotta tear apart my other blaster and adjust its needle cuz its running too rich lol. i should be a carb pro soon had these 2 apaart like 10 times already in the past 2 days.

I assumed no changes were made before it started messing up. Jetting shouldn't be that far off for no reason. Just throwing that out there.

Only other thing i could add is to make sure there is a little slack in your throttle cable. Make sure your idle is not being adjusted by the cable but leaving slack in the cable to let the idle adjustment on the carb do it's job.

Hope that makes sense.

should have added this is after a fresh rebuild of the whole quad from the ground up including top end. as far as jetting i added a reed spacer so im thinking that leaned it out a little and i didnt jet up.

do i need to remove the spring to move the needle? i have the haynes manual sitting here in front of me but it doesnt go into how to adjust the needle (or i cant find it). anyone know of a good walk through with pics??
