Are you very sure that the pilot jet is clean, did you run something through the tiny hole to make sure?

If the slide is passing air the air screw adjustment may compensate for that.

Is there a round gasket under the carb cap?

The needle has no say in the idle mix, it does not really come into operation until between 1/8 to 1/4 throttle.

yes the gasket on the cap is seated well no leaks, i did blow compressed air through main jet and the choke tube, now you got me thinking maybe i didnt blow through the pilot jet i did soak and spray down with carb cleaner. today i disconnected the tors system to see if that would help the idle but it didnt. BUT i did do new swing arm bushings and installed 400ex rear shock motor is crisp all i need is it to idle and it will be perfect, ill let you know tomorow when i check the pilot jet thanks
