i baught a blaster for cheap blown up, i had the top and bottem rebuilt with all new parts. so now it runs good bujt the idle is screwed up it idles high and won't come back down it seams the warmer it gets the worse it is. i put new reeds in it and noticed the reed stoppers were not there. woulde that effect anything? it still has the tors device on it also. i am gonna get new cap and cable when i get the money, just wondering if it is possible to unhook it but leave it there for now. thanx any help woulde be greately appreciated

make sure you don't have an air leak in the intake.are you running stock reeds? If so,you need the stoppers.I'm sure. You can disconnect the tors and leave it there.

i am running boysen power reeds. does anybody know where do get a new cap and cable with the idle screw. dennis kirk seems kinda steep @65 dollars. i did not find a air leek everything seems good there

Have you checked you throttle cable ? Could be stretched or something. There is a DIY for Tors Removal I believe.

you can get the cap and cable on ebay.have you tried turning your air/fuel screw?do a search here and you will find how to unhook the tors.how did you check for an airleak?you should make a leakdown tester

As stated above you can get a T.O.R.S. Deletion kit. It comes with the carb cap with adjuster, thottle cable(for stock thumb throttle), idle screw and tap and die for the idle screw. Motion Pro and Vitos makes a kit.You can find them on eBay also as stated above.

As for the idle screw you are adjusting, is it the one on top of the T.O.R.S. unit? If so I know a couple of members had the problem of the idle screw being stripped inside the T.O.R.S. unit. Causing the high idle which in turn is a airleak in the T.O.R.S..

If the T.O.R.S. unit is messed up inside like I stated above I dont think just disconnecting the T.O.R.S. will do anything.

Hope this helps you out......

if your idle is hangin up, like stated above your leaking air or lean, as far as your boyesen power reeds you don't use a reed stop for what the tors removal kit with cable and cap ect ect costs i'd pick up a different carb and eliminate the whole possibility of the tors being messed up inside. just my .02
