my gf has a 99 that runs well. it start fine but after riding for a while it starts racing and has a hard time idle. any things i should look for? carb is nice and clean. not sure what to look for.
You could also check that the carb cable isnt being bound up causing it to crack the throttle. Aand that the vent cap isnt clogged causing it to run lean. Or the petcock isnt clogged. Double check for dirt in the carb.
