hey guys i am pretty new to this so i could sure use some help. In the gold box that is connected to my carburetor is the idle control screw. I seem to have broken off the screw while trying to make my quad not idle so high. Money is tight and in order to fix it i have to replace the whole box. Is it possible for me to take that idle control out, and just use the idle control that is on the handle bars? Please help. Sorry i know i am a super newbie:-/

You get a Tors removal kit that replaces the brick on top of your carb, then you get a idle screw (With some of the kits, but can buy separately) which you would install on the side of your carb.

The "idle control" on the handle bars is not for idling, its to set the play in your throttle.
Its not good to have no play in the throttle thats why there is a idle screw.

Search the forum a bit about tors removal, you should find links to where you can buy the kit.

One can fit another carby cap and throttle cable and still effectively get a reasonable idle.

Awk uses this method and swears by it, if it works for him it may work for you!

I tend to shy away from this method as on full lock the engine speed increases some, but it is a relatively cheap fix and requires no machining.
