i'd be doing some checking and maintenence before any long hard rides.
i trust zero previous owners !
and it's a long walk home from some of the places i ride too, LOL

check/change plug - NGK b8es
check/clean/re-oil air filter
check carb settings - airscrew setting /main jet size
check/change trans oil
check/lube chain/sprockets
leakdown test
compression test
check brakes/replace pads
check/lube all suspension parts
check/lube any cables
and go over every nut and bolt
