new castle pa
well i have come to see it clearly now, me and back fenders dont get along

88, blaster-broke the back fender pulling it out of my garage
2nd blaster- has a huge hole in the back fender
ninja blaster- has no back fender
yz 250- snapped the back fender off by popping a wheelie to far
baja 70- dumped it the first day i had it and snapped the fender off
kx 100- garage door snapped it off because it stuck out to far
1st rm 80- did not have a back fender
2nd rm 80- snapped the back fender off pulling it out of the truck after i bought it
kdx 200- never had one

and now my Cadillac has a huge scratch down the back bumper on the driver side because my sister hit our wall and slid down it

lmao i have such bad luck but lets hear your curses if you have one. just something that always happens to your bikes

you must have a curse,
i've owned 2 - 3 wheelers and 3 blasters, have wrecked them every way imaginable, never even a crack on factory yamaha plastics, and only ever lost one rear fender on the old klt250, and that log would have taken my leg off had i not got it out of the way in time !!!!!!

you sure your "curse" isnt just from owning already busted up sh*t ????

well some of then are becuase i got them that way but the the baja 70 i got legit brand new and it was the first day i had it and broke the fender. ans same with the yz i popped a wheelie and cracked the gas to hard and i fell off the back lol it was pretty funny and my 88 had a decent back fender then i rolled off of it and cracked it and when i pulled it out of my garage a broken section came off and i fell on my ass

LOL....bad luck dude....but the funny factor is high so far on this thread!!!

BTW, you do know rear fenders don't double as grab-bars.....right? :p

Hahaha, sorry 'bout the luck '88! That sucks. As for my curse? It would have to be owning a Banshee.

I've owned 3 in my lifetime and loved them. BUT, the first one I bought had just been "rebuilt". After pulling apart the carbs, I found stock jets. No big deal, I figured, since the engine had hardly been run since new pistions/rings were installed. I re-jetted both carbs, checked the bike over well from end-to-end, changed the gearbox oil to be safe, removed the TORS, and proceeded to take it out for a weekend trip to Rocky Ridge ATV Park in Decatur, Texas.

By the time the weekend was over, this 1999 Banshee's engine had all but lost compression. I got it home and tore it down to discover that the previous owner had just thrown new pistions and rings into already-worn cylinders. The crankshaft somehow had a stock Yamaha rod on one side and a Hotrods rod on the other. No lie. :o Ugh! X(

So, that Banshee sat around collecting dust until I moved away to North Carolina. After getting it here, I ended up trading my old Warrior for another Banshee. It was in rough shape (an '89 model), but it came with a 4mil engine that ran very well. SO, I pulled the engine out of the '89 chassis and stuck in the '99 frame.

Just when I had this Banshee doing what a Banshee does best (for those of you who've never owned one, that means going fast! :D), my wife wanted to travel to Texas to visit her family for Christmas, so I had to sell the bike to pay for the trip. Still not happy about that. X(

Now I was left with just a blown engine and the old '89 frame. I found another 1988 Banshee on CL that didn't run but seemed to have a good engine. I took a chance and bought it. It had 100psi compression and I figured it would run well enough to ride for a season or two until I decided to rebuild it. Well, wouldn't 'ya know, I noticed that the head gasket was leaking when I got it home. I pulled the head to investigate, and found both cylinders had been filled with water. Rust everywhere.

That was the last straw. I stuck everything Banshee I owned (except for a couple odds and ends) up on CL for $ 500.00 and had it all sold before nightfall.

I haven't been able to afford another Banshee since. :( You guys who get to enjoy them make me so jealous. That's been my dream quad since I first got into ATV's and now I can't even find one for sale up here that's not $ 3,500.00

My wife had better watch out. Her Rancher 350 may disappear one of these days in a trade! ;)
