I have a 99 blaster that won't stay running if I let off the throttle. it also doesn't react to the throttle when you get on it or let off it until it dies when you let off anyway. I've cleaned and just rebuilt the carb and made sure I did everything right there but nothing has changed and I'm a little lost now. plus when it does start if I put it in gear it jumps forward like a foot and dies. I really wanna ride this before snow hits so can somebody help me out soon that'd be awesome, I'm at a loss of what to do.

what carb, jetting, airscrew setting ?
filter clean ?
reeds good ?
new b8es plug ?

jumping forward, sounds like a clutch cable or adjustment issue, and that may contibute to your stalling issue.

clutch cable stretched ?
adjustment on clutch lever out of adjustment ?

if cable is good, it's time to pull the clutch cover and see whats going on in there, or it may need the internal rod adjusted to push the pressure plate out off the clutch discs further to allow it to fully disengage.

here's some info on clutch install/adjustments......

the correct clutch install and adjustment is in this video series, probably part 3, search thru them until you see him installing the clutch, internal rod adjustment is right after that

i know everything is good with the jetting and adjusting the airscrew for some reason doesn't do anything ive had it all the way in and out and its the same. mikuni carb. it might seem stupid but im not sure how to check the reeds. and the clutch cable isn't stretched so unfortunately I guess I have to get in there. but the lever doesn't fully release either it only goes about 3/4 of the way back out then I have to push it the rest of the way, does that mean I might need to replace a spring?

reeds are under the intake boot the carb mounts to, against the cylinder, you can look in with a flashlight if you fanangle your head in front of the tire, or pull the intake off for a better inspection, all 4 petals should be in good shape and sitting flat against the cage. no cracks or chips.

yes, the clutch problem needs further checking, remove cable from the actuator under the carb, then work it by hand with channel locks to see if it works better, that separates it as an internal clutch problem, or cable/lever problem
