i know this topic is beaten

hey bud you better do what phagle says, he probably knows more than anyone on here so you better not piss him off by not following his directions . he might never help you again

so crap in the carb physically cant give you running issues? a cracked plug or other electrical faults cant break down when you rev the bike up? my point is you can check these thing first before buying jets because these faults can and will cause problems like this, look what i went through phragle.
its more like your jetting, but then thats what everyone [including me] thought was wrong with mine, turned out it was the source coil.
so if i went and bought jets they would have been no use. check the basics first thats all im saying.

A large collection of jets is ALWAYS a good thing. Jetting is the most likely culprit. if you have crap in the carb, you will most likely see floatys when you pull the plug off the bottom of the carb to change mains. If you have a good leakdown test and jetting changes don't fix the problem, then its time to look elsewhere... Of course if you really want to split hairs, i the leak down test was good and he had an EGT he would know where his jetting stood without even getting his jet kit out of the tool box.

check your float level, you may be running out of gas in the carb resevoir. If the float is good up your jet size to 300+ and remove your airbox lid. Peace.

think i found out what it was

i replaced the plug with a BR8ES NGK plug and it runs like a bat outta hell now, the old one was a BR9... something

much smoother through all the gears, thanks for the help guys :)

yeah that could have something to do ith it. the b8 is what yamaha calls for
the b9 is a colder plug. you shouldnt run anything but a b8
