im new to the site and new to my blaster. just finished puting it back together today and tried to fire it up to break in the new piston.
i had to play with the idle a bit and adjust the needle jet. it still wasnt ideling doun quite right and ended up reving up to the point whare i thought it was going to blow and wouldnt idle back doun at all....i couldnt kill it off the key swich, started pulling wires, pulled the plug wire(and still didnt die!!!!) and ended up ripping the carb right off to prevent it from getting anymore fuel (and then it finaly shut off)....please help me understand

you have an air leak, had you simply opened the throttle all the way it would've died. the reason it kept running is that it was running so lean and hot, it was igniting the fuel without needing the spark plug. this is known as dieseling.

check the base nuts, the head nuts, the carb cap, the reed cage gaskets. also make sure you have good fuel flow to the carb and the carb is clean.

Thanks.... i know the fuel flow is good and the carb is clean... i have all new gaskets on the moter after rebuild and everything is torqued doun

i'd like to know how many times i've said this in the last year, but here goes again.........
