Is it possible to convert a 88 blaster to hydralic brakes, what chain do I need for a 3" extended swingarm.

Depends on your budget, you can go with used ones off another blaster you of course will need the calipers, brake lines, mastercylinder, and the brake hubs and spindles, your a-arms are the same I believe so you would not need them. I would check e-bay or cycle salvage places for used or post on wanted here or if you have lots of money check with a Yamaha dealer. Me and 01_blaster freak just swapped all that stuff from my bent 04 frame onto an older style frame I had with no problems. If you have the parts it probably would not take you more than a couple hours at most to do them if you are mechanicall inclined.

bleeding is a pain in the ass, espicialy for me since i dont have the pump, i have to pump the brake lever, that will be the hardest thing- ive never bleeded the blaster with two calipers.

6" longer

Upon first thought I kind of see your point. Because the chain would need to be +3 above the sprocket and +3 below.

However, rethinking this makes me wonder. The distance around the rear sprocket will remain the same (if your using the same # of teeth) there for a +3 increase in the Swingarm should only need to be compensated for on one side of the chain. Humm, Ill measure when I get home, ive got a +4 swing arm and just told the shop when I ordered the new chain and they sent the correct length for my application.

ahh, Now I think you are right once I reconcidered again.

I stand corrected. Darn, and I thought I was smarter than that
