Anyone mount their own tires the old fashion way? With just strength and a tire iron? How difficult is it? I have the tires and the rims, just trying to decide if it is easy enough to do it myself.

very easy to do. they come off from the back. lots of soap and a large bladed screw driver or two. you can tape the shaft of the screw drivers if your scared of scratching your paint. steel wheels are easy aluminum you have to be a little more careful with since its softer then steel

if your have just painted rims then DEFFINATLY DO NOT try to man handle it with tire iron and screw drivers, thats how we change all our tires and if you got ones already painted it wil chew all the paint right off the lip of the rim

you should have wated to paint them, put the rim on the tire, tape the tire up, paint the rims, then inflate with air

Well, I started to try the other day and of course the paint started to chip on the edge. The wheels are aluminum ITP Bajas. I bought them used and the rings were a little dinged up so I thought they would look a little better painted. I bought a matching set of fronts a week later that are perfect so now I am thinking I may just take the paint off and sand then polish the rings as best as I can. It would be a real shame to have to paint the fronts. I am gonna try to get the paint off the mount them myself. Called Walmart here and they dont mount atv tires. So I will just use my tire irons and hopefully it wont be too bad.

set of spoons would be easier. if you have them painted i would take them to a shop, they should be able to zip them on pretty quick with the machine. Otherwise don't forget the lube, it will make wonders.
