I have a 90s blaster and it has what I think is a fmf pipe and it ran good but I mixed the gas wrong one day and blew it up and it needs to be bored and I want to make it faster and was wondering if any body with the 80 over kit had any problems with over heating problems or any other problems and any other things I should know when rebuilding it

Well, Im not 4 sure if you are refering to the 240 kit. or just a over bore.

My sons blaster is 68 mm. which is .080 over.

He and I have seen no issues

Bore as little as needed to clean up the bore. going 2 or 3 sizes over does not make any more power, just ruins good rebuilds left in the cylinder. The power is in the cylinder head...

When you bore a stock cylinder you will not experience any heating issues.

Most overheating problems are caused in your case by the wrong fuel/oil ratio, by an air leak leaning out the mix, or by incorrect jetting.

Before you pull the motor down it would be a good idea to leak test it, to confirm if it was you who killed it by messing up, or wether it was killed by an air leak.

When you do rebuild you will need a leak tester as you assemble the new top end.

Member Slickerthanyou sells the leaktesters. $33 shipped in the lower 48 states $43 international.

Doing this test is the only way to know that your motor is leak free.

You can also build your own tester, threaded tee, some nipples, tubing, gauge, PVC reducer bushing (for the intake), teflon tape, and a tire valve(schrader), cable ties.
