How many pounds of torque????

I need to replace head gasket in 1996 Yamaha Blaster. Does any one know how many pounds of torque for this?? Thanks!

i belive its 20 ft lbs, so you do think your headgasket is the problem?

first time i did one, i used the factory torque settings of 20ft.lbs. and it blew the first ride out, since then i have just EVENLY cranked them tight, using the star pattern and have had no troubles since

Sorry! I'm not for sure about it being the head gasket, but my buddy swears that is what it is.I don't know alot about working on them.Thanks again for your help. I appreciate it!!

lmao its cool man. the head gasket is copper so i dont see how it could have folded like your buddie says. ive had headgaskets be blown/loose and the machine still ran but you could see the 2 stroke coming out between the head and the cylinder. can you see that on yours? like is it all wet between the cylinder and head? but regardless just keep asking questions and giving info and we will get this baby up and runnin!

I just checked mine they are torqued at 30ft lbs, others had had problems with twenty also.
