How high does a blaster rev

depends on what is done to it. mods will increase its range of how high it can rev but yeah i think around 9-9500rpms is near its max when its had engine work and been balanced
Yes... Different pipes will allow the motor to rev higher, and if you have a better pipe you will want a better breathing filter, and to open up the airbox....But porting the cylinder make the biggest improvement for more rpm...
i ll find out the end of the week..... i m putting one of my karting tachs on it with a cht lead on spark plug.
when i get the good motor done after xmas i ll be running a egt lead in the pipe instead of the cht lead. should be interesting

i was considering buying a mychron or digatron for my blaster. but i didnt know if they would hold up to any abuse so i didnt want to drop that kind of money

i run a digatron dt32, dual display..... the numbers are larger and the tach is much more sensative then the mychron. i have ran both...... the only reason we really liked mychrons is because of the lap timing feature. digatron jsut reacently came out with that the past few years.
a new mychron 4 is like $350 and digatron single displays are like $150. but you can pick up used digatrons for like $50 bucks.....just watch the leads...... your gonna spend $100 on new leads if they are bad.
used mychrons go for $100 to $150 for a 3 and a used 4 is like $200 +
but well worth the money....if you have any doubts get a outerwears tach bag for it

i used to race karts. we had 3 kt100's, two cans and one pipe, and a parilla leapard tag kart. the only gauges we would use were the mychron 4's and they lasted through some rain and everything. the only thing that scares me would be jumping and such, i just dont know if they will stand up to those impacts
they rev to around 7000 to 7500, the motor is able to put out much more into the 11000 range but theres no way the heat would disperse fastr enough with the air cooling, if it was liquid cooled it would be more feasable
