How does my Blaster sound?

Here is a video I took yesterday of 2000 Blaster.... I'm wondering how it sounds and what that rattling sound is by the engine.

I didn't really rev it because it was a cold start.

these are loud rattling motors to begin with, like most 2 strokes, just listen for a ping noise over a rattle. And if you are concerned run a leakdown test

What could be that rattling sound near the motor?

Just want to make sure it sounds fine.

The common "rattling" is usually the reeds opening and closing. Think about how fast the cycle is happening, those reeds are opening and closing very very fast

I wonder if it could be the baffling rattling. Have you had your pipe off, did it sould like anything was loose in there?

Is your exhaust heat shield loose?

I would have to mix things up some and say, sounds like something is loose or rattling some where. With three blasters, I have not heard that much noise on any of mine.


Id just go around and double check the tightness on every thing. heat shield, like was mentioned. but also check the pipe to muffler connection, can rattle there also.
You might do a safey check, and take off the covers and just double check the bolts are on good and tight. Not saying its a must, but if the noise can not be located. always better to be safe than sorry.
