how do you clean engine???help fast

i go mudding alot and my dad don't want me to(he don't know half the things i do) so i clean the plastics off with a hose and rag before he gets home, but the engine is still always looking dirty(i don't spray it with the hose) my friend tells me that it's not good to spray it down
how do you clean your engine????
do you wait till it cools off then spray it or what??

you should always wait fer your engine ta cool down before you hit it with water...cuz the water can crack your cases and if you have a pipe it will put cracks in it...but if its ur head then wait fer it ta cool down then blast it with the hose...jus not with the hardest water pressure...=/...also you can take an old tooth brush and brush out all the dirt that stuck ta ur motor

i wait a day after riding pull my dirtbikes out of the garage powerwash them and they look like new

ya...wait for the engine to cool, cus when you wash it, just after it was ran, you get cooked on dirt stains I find......

wd40 works pretty good for shining it up. or tireshine.

or you can run to the store and grab some engine degreaser, spray it all over the engine and let it sit for about an hour then hose it off (after it's cool of course)
and then the next time you go mudding it will be easier to clean also. hope this helps and good luck! I:I
