How do I remove the chain?

I have most of the mounting bolts out, just have the swing arm bolt left and I totally spaced how do I take off the darn chain?

Is there a trick to getting it out? Or do you pretty much break it and buy a new one?

That is a master link pictured above. the thin piece locks in to hold the link on. you should only have one of these on your chain. Find it then push the retainer off with a screwdriver or use a pair of pliers. then the link should come apart. Depending on the condition of oyur chain it is very simple, a little penetrating oil may help.
