hot rod +4 crank

wow, theres a lot of misinfo in this thread....out of all the posts, 1 guy got it right and he's only partly right....trench the cases, if its ported, have it reported for the added stroke of the crank. and cut the head for added performance.

there might also be a better way to set it up for whatever type of riding you do too.....you know..more power...

agreed and i think this was discussed b4....when you stroke the motor you change the rotational speed and therefore have to change the port timing. you do this by moving the ports. basic needs for 4mm is trench case, report, shim cylinder, good add ons timing, cut head, flywheel.

hes complaining about 100 bucks, he does not have the means to set this up correctly and doesn't seem to want to spend the money, to talk port timing back flow angles is a waste of time, he has no biz trying to get this done IMHO

I´m not complaining about $100, it´s only that is a big difference in the prices. Today in the morning I went to my local store and I ordered it and of corse I know that I have to waste money to pay to my mechanic.

well despite what peoples opinions are....thats what you have to do. theres your short list of must haves, then the rest is up to you, and however your setup is. you may end up changing your whole setup.....it happens sometimes.....

there is a reason Vito's did the 3mil like they did to drop in, increasing cc volume for 1/2 up and down is hardly worth it

its easier to sell too, seeing as how its less work to install. you still have modifications to make, but they arent as tough as a case trench. most people get scared of that and say screw it, ill go with the cheaper easier way, in most cases its probly just as good anyways.....

a hot rod crank uses chineese bearings so I'm hoping you mean the hot rod is a lesser crank

No, not at all. The bearings have nothing to do with it. The vito rod is shaved down to make room for the rod to clear the case halves, this is why you don't need to trench them out if running their crank. If you would have the two side by side, then you would see the difference.

The vito crank will do just fine for normal riding but I have seen them fail in some motors. I personally would not run one in my bike.

yep I think its like .020 off the rod and your correct, but I have never seen a rod break from normal abuse
