so the other day some kid got on my blaster and was messing with whatever.. anyways he started it and it revved extremely high so he shut it off. then i started it and it did the same thing. i tryed to search for this but couldnt really find anything. where should i start with this? thanks

well it was always hard to start. but as of now when it does start it idles to the moon on its own.

not the stock carb its an mikuni carb but must be off of a dirtbike? but its worked for me and the last owner. no idea what the kid did either. could something possible be stuck in my carb?

maybe a air leak or just it lean out to much... with a that carb it may have a mixture screw he may have messed with that not sure about that carb... first i would check and make sure you throttle is almost all the way closed.. sometimes the cable or slide sticks and your throttle will stay open... also did you remove you TORS? and oil injection?

You probably have a throthle cable issue or the floating inside the carb is stuck.

Remove the carb, look trough it and press the throthle see if the carbslide is working, if it is working fine remove the carb bowl and check everything for debris, see if the the floating is free, reasemble everything back, and of course do a leak test.
Since it was working fine before, it cant be wrong jeeting.

update: let it sit for two days and it wouldnt start. blew some compressed air through the gas line into the carb and it kicked over great but still idled extremely high. checked the float and it seemed fine. i noticed the slide had about a half inch to an inch of clearance from the bottom. im assuming its suposed to be like that? i noticed my cable had been parcially melted from the pipe but it dosent seem to be sticking. i tapped on the throttle with my hand a few times when it was off and when i started it it seemed to idle fine at first then slowely get higher and higher. after a couple more starts it seemed to go back to the way it was. adjusted the idle screw some and it didnt do anything at all. any other ideas?

The slide is suposed to go all the way down, do you use the original carb cover ? If you do, open it and see if its working fine, sometimes the cables start stripping inside.

Sounds like the throttle is stuck open , I'd check the slide , possibly the internals to your tors , if you can't figure that out post a picture of your carb so we could better trouble shoot the problem it would help to know what were working with
