something like autosol...,(comes in alittle tube) 'polishes' aluminum, and gets rid of the dull look

a good half an hour and this is what happens to a aluminum tunnel of a sled after using autosol......

(it was all done by hand)

sand paper is too rough, a small polishing attachment that like fits in a drill or a dremel is your best bet, the high speed helps

ya, you are using emery paper, that is primarily used on various metals.

use a 1000 grit sand paper and u will see the shine come to life!
