Now keep in mind that most of these pics are from compititoin systems and are not daily driving systems. They are ment to be played for very short burst that are ment to be really loud. The First pics will be of my personal car which was a 1993 Ford Escort GT 2 Door Hatchback.

This first pics is of the Optima G31 batteries. I had a total of 4 in the pic but add 2 more later. You can see 3 in this pic and the other one is under the hood.

This second pic was of 2 Incriminator Audio IA20.1's, These were the prototype amps (the only 2 made at that time) and were only rated at 750 watts at 2 ohms BUT I was running them at 0.5 ohms each and getting around 4500 watts each so around 9000 watts total.

Here is a pic of me with the 6 foot tall World Finals Championship trophy. My score that year was 158.8 DB's with 2 15's and 2 little 750 watt amps LOL..... That was on the Term Lab Meter also which it the tightest meter ever made. It will read anywere from 5 to 10 DB's lower the the Audio Control meters that most Audio shops have.

OK this pics was a very top secret pic for a long time... we as a team never posted pics of out enclosures or really anything that would show anything about our builds. We spent countless hours building these cars so we didn't want our work to go to waste and someone else copy it. If I would have to guess I would say I have well over 500 hours of building and testing in this car.

OK this here is a pic of a slightly different setup in my car at a DB Drag Racing event. I still had the same 2 15's BUT had 4 MA Audio HK 4000d's running on a 16 volt system. Each amp was running around 5000 to 6000 watts. So I had a total of around 24,000 watts at this time. This was good enough for a 161.8 DB Score with the meter on the dash and all the doors closed.

OK these are a few pics of the Caravan I built after the car. I never got any sub pics or amps, and I really don't know why all I could find was a pic that will show you the extreams we went threw to make sure we got every little bit of power we could out of a battery.
This pic is of the front battey... in my class we could only have 2 12 volt batteries. There were 16 runs of 1/0 cable running from front to back. At $5 a foot and 16 feet long each that's only $1200 worth of power cable, That god for sponcers LOL.. Really though that's more money then I paid for the van itself LOL....This van had 4 18's and 8 MA Audio HK 4000D's in it.

This is a pic of the rear battery. We also made the custom battery terminals to hook all this wire up.

This is a pic off all that wire running under the van....

OK now this one is the big daddy LOL.. This was the team Van. We had built 2 van's. This one I think is a 1993 Extended version Astro setting on 22's with a full body kit painted peral white. This one had 100 Optima G31 yellow tops and at 1 time had 14 12's in it but we ended up taking 2 out b/c 12 was louder. had 28 MA HK 4000D's..

Here is a pic of the amps in the amp rack.
99qah3.jpg

Here is a pic of both the Black and White Astros we had that year... The Black one is setting on 20's and is not extended. It had 4 18's and 28 Incriminator Audio 20.1s in it. We finally got the amps in the van 2 days before Finals. They got held up in customs b/c of all the terror sh*t going on.
fvkxeo.jpg

You can see in the pic who we fit all 100 batteries in there. This can came all wheel drive but we tood the rear axel and drive shaft out and cut out all the frame and built a new one with racks to hold all the batteries....

This is what happens sometimes when you put 16,000 watts to one sub for a little 2 long LOL....

bahah down in alberta i had a few diff setups, 147.7 on the tl with 2 DD 3500's
i had a apxx reconed with fi cones and stiffer spiders by some guy down in your area. i sold that to a guy in alberta which now has 4 of them in his explorer

This is what roughly $100,000 worth of batteries looks like. It was a biotch unloading them all.

This is where we spend a lot of time rebuilding subs...

Here is a shot of the subs... I couldn't get them all in the pic though so there are more above the ones that you see.

LOL this is great someone who actualy knows something about the brands we used.. Scott, the owner of FI origanly worked for RE and built the RE MT's we used. They have the same cones as his subs do now. I probley know they guy you are talking about also.. I know most everyone around here that does this.

IMO compleatly overrated, extremely heavy and really all it was ment to me a marketing gimic. Sure they have some floating around but you can get better performance out of 2 12's.

ok just wondering because back when i used to watch pimp my ride they put 2 jackhammers in some old bread truck

nice pics man im reall happy to see another bass head on here. its been kinda slow for me but when i get back on my feet good. i will be back to building again gotta 94 escort i wanna bass race with next year hopefully shootin for the 150s. gonna run with sundown audio and dc sound labs

How long have you been competing.I used to mess with systems when I was younger.A good buddy of mine had a blazer with 10or12 kicker 18's that he brought to world comps every year.I remeber seeing vids of him competing and that was when alma gates was the king or should I say queen for awhile. There was countless numbers of hours involved in the setup of this stuff nevermind the expense involved. You build some badass systems bro,I could look at pics all day long.Nice work.

I still have some of my stuff left.I still have 2 kicker comp 15's brand new in the boxes,2 xs-one amps, bunch of other smaller amps audiobahn, fosgate, mtx, some 4v and 8v pre out decks.I have not touched this stuff in probably 11 years or longer.

I compeated for a few years back in 05 06 and 07 but like anything else the compitition level went down really bad so I lost intrest in it. Some guys on the team have been compeating for over 10 years. I'm not active in it anymore, i still talk to them every once in a while but most ppl don't understane how much time it takes to build a top level system like that. Most ppl think I was crazy when they seen my Escort LOL... From the door jams back there wasn't anything but speaker box. I've had as many as 3 ppl that rode inside my speaker box b/c I didn't have a back seat.

can i just ask.... Why? I mean thats alot of money, do you guys get sponsors or is it out of pocket?

There is no way we could do that without sponcers.. In my car the only money I was out was the car itself, the wood, glue and screws, I had to pay cost for the 2 subs but got all replacments for free, I bought 1 of the batteries and got the others for free, The amps were all sponcered. As far as the van, had to pay for the van, the steal to build it, the wood and things like that but all batteries and equipment was sponcered. I would really hate to try and add up the money in that van if we had to pay for it. The wheels that were only it was custom made for the van b/c it weighs over 18,000 pounds. The body kit was sponcered and a local body shop painted it. In all I would say there was less the $4000 of money in the van.

Oh ok i didn't mean anything by it. I was just wondering. Thats pretty sweet, seems like it would be a lot of fun. that van looks like a headache of wiring. that is an ass tone of battery's

down here we are just getting started on a buddys demo tahoe hes got 4 18in mmats dreadnaut's (gona do a meade style box tons of glass for reinforcement) and 2 of there 3500.1's that i am sure are gona be modded right now he has a s-10 with 2 12in p3.0's on a old modded d300hc that lays down 2000 watts all day.

if anyone knows a bit about db drags metro audio is right here big pile of d bags but they can mod the sh*t out of the old mmats amps.

my buddy has really got me back into audio again damn him gota figure out my next car before i do something again but i have a set of type r components laying around already

back in the day i had 2 12w6's originals i might add stuffed in my standard cab mazda with a ppi amp put down 136 in a sealed box with no air space in there good old days back then

well being that my buddys truck and suv are demo cars for his shop he got a very good hook up with mmats i think it was 40% off his cost but there was still a big chunk of change out of his pocket plus all his labor involved. its not including all of the other stuff he has to do either tons of hush mat, a bunch of runs of wire, 3 sets of components not only does he want people to get the sh*t scared out of them from 4 18's but he wants it to sound good too
